Story Theater

Ages 6-9

A Deposit of $50.00 per week will hold a place for your child in these camps.  Final Payment  is due June 1st.

One professional actor/director and one licensed teacher will guide 16 young performing artists in the discovery and joy of theater.

Story Theater camps exercise the entire artist by integrating musical theater, acting and art all in one fun filled week. Campers will begin to develop healthy singing habits, explore the world of acting through improvisation and theater games, as well as use their creative powers to help create all props and minimal set pieces for their recital. With the assistance of our teachers, all campers will learn a song (complete with choreography/movement) and develop a character to perform in a short play based on a children’s book, both of which will be performed on the final day of camp at 12:00 PM for friends and family.  Each of the 3 sessions will introduce different music and create a different play so register for as many sessions as you like.

MUSICAL PRODUCTIONS

Goin Buggy

Ages 7-10
July 8th-12th

In this enchanting musical, the members of the insect population take on personalities and demand the respect and positive attention they have lacked for so long.  The clever story and seven engaging songs of this musical are guaranteed to capture the imaginations and hearts of sixteen performers and audience alike.

Glee Week

Join us for one fun and skill packed week of Musical Theater.  Sixteen performers will have the opportunity to perform as a soloist as well as in duets, quartets, octets and a large group in the creation of a Cabaret. Every student will receive private voice lessons and performance coaching for their solo.  Each session will conclude with a performance of their Cabaret on Friday (July 19th at 2:30 pm and August 16th at 2:30 pm) on the Chester County Historical Society stage.

Musical Theater Audition Workshop

July 10th, 9:00-3:00 pm    Cost: $75.00

Fine tune your audition song in a masterclass atmosphere.  Work with vocal coach Susan Anders Brizick and acting coach Therese Walden-Murphy individually to improve the quality of your singing and acting in a musical theater selection.

Improvisation Week

Ages 9-13

A professional Actor/Director and Licensed teacher will guide 16 performers in the creation and rehearsal of their own show. Bring your ideas to life through improvisation as you and your peers create your own characters, lines and show! Students will work as a creative team and use their imaginations to develop a plot and story line. Students will perform their original work on Friday August 2nd at 2:15 pm on the Chester County Historical Society stage.

Theatrical Production

Two professional actor/directors will lead sixteen performers through the rehearsals and performance of a One Act Play.  Experience what thousands of professional performers do every summer “Summer Stock”. “Summer Stock” is the creation of a theatrical performance in one week!  Performers will learn their blocking, lines and motivation with the help and support or our directors while creating their character for the play all in one week. (As always, all roles will be of comparable size.)  The final performance for family and friends will be on Friday August 23rd at 2:15 pm on stage at the Chester County Historical Society.

Acting for the Camera Workshop

Ages 11-17
9:00 am- 3:00 pm
Cost: $160.00
July 8 & 9,   August 7 & 8

These workshops will take place in the Great Valley High School TV Studio!

Register by March 15th and receive a $15 Discount.

A $50 deposit will hold your performers place in this unique opportunity to learn how to be a TV/Film  actor.  Final payment is due June 1st.

Sixteen performers will work with two professional actor/directors as they learn how to navigate the world of TV and Film.  All students will have the opportunity to act in a TV commercial, film scene and record a voice over.  Students will receive a copy of their work at the end of the workshop.
