2013 Spring Show Details!

West Chester Studio for the Performing Arts offers theater classes and summer camps during the summer, fall and winter seasons.  Our Spring Show offers performers the opportunity to try out their new skills in a professional setting while working with professionals in the industry.  This eight week intensive helps the young performer discover what real theater is about and what is expected of an actor while continuing to work his/her craft in a fun and safe environment.

Directors: Therese Walden-Murphy & Kristin McLaughlin

(For audition appointment or questions email Therese at: therese@westchesterstudio.com or call 484-995-2915.)

Lighting & Sound Designer: Francis Licopoli

Stage Manager, Costume Designer and Set Designer: TBA

Auditions will be held March 10th from Noon to 4:00 pm at the Chester County Historical Society (225 N. High Street, West Chester) in the lower level rehearsal studios. Interested performers grades 3-12 are eligible to audition.  Email Therese to arrange an audition time: therese@westchesterstudio.com.  All auditions will take about 5 minutes, please let us know if you have any time restraints in your email as well as what grade your performer is in.

Performers will be asked to perform a short monologue of their choice which shows their personality.  If you don’t have a monologue, we will send you a list of short monologues to choose from.  Parents do not feel the need to have your child coached on his/her monologue by a professional, we really just want to see each performer put their personality into a monologue.  Have your performer use their imagination and have fun with the monologue!

Our Elementary Performers will rehearse and perform FURRY TALES By Joel Doty.

When the animals in Furry Tale Land begin losing their tails because the famous book characters are forgetting the fairy tales, it’s up to three brave animals to find a human who still knows the stories, bring her back to their magic land and unscramble the mess before the tales and tails are gone forever.
