Grades 7 and Up

Description

Teen Acting students engage in vocal and physical warm-ups, theatre games, improvisation, character development, break down of scenes and scene work.  In this class students concentrate on developing professional acting skills while gaining control of inhibitions and recognizing the strength of their inner voice. While the primary technique taught in this class is Misner Technique other influences include: Stella Adler, Viola Spolin, Terry Schreiber, The Barrow Group and Stanislavski.

Students develop the skill to listen to their acting partner as well as their instinct and truthfully re-act to what has been said.  This class prepares students for the professional theatre world while also helping to gain confidence, self-esteem and strong communication skills.  Each student will present a monologue or scene they have worked on in class for the final recital.

Recital

The final hour of class on March 9th at 4:30 PM, will be a recital of the students work.
